Gary Ramsey

 

Gary Ramsey is a licensed Adirondack Guide with more than 30 years experience in the outdoors.  As a senior manager in a Fortune 500 company, Gary developed an extensive knowledge in practical skills training.  He attended The Whitetail University and completed a course of study with The North American School of Conservation, Wildlife and Forestry.  He has been trained in water safety, boating safety and search and rescue.   In addition, Gary is a certified instructor for wilderness first aid, wilderness first responder and CPR.  Gary writes a monthly outdoor column for the Adirondack Express and teaches hunting seminars for Gander Mountain®. He is a licensed watercraft Pilot/Engineer for all navigable waters in NYS.  Gary has hunted big game in 5 states and in Canada successfully taking elk, black bear, mule deer, whitetail deer, antelope, wild boar, predators and eastern turkey.  He is a member of the NYS Guides Association.  As a professional trainer, avid outdoorsman and hunter, Gary will give you the knowledge and the hands on wilderness education you need.   

Marilyn Ramsey

Marilyn Ramsey is a licensed Adirondack Guide with over 30 years experience hiking, camping and backpacking.  As a Registered Nurse, she has extensive medical knowledge with specialized training in cardiac life support and pediatric care.  Marilyn is the Training Director for the ASHI Wilderness First Aid program.  She is a certified instructor for basic and advanced wilderness first aid, wilderness first responder and CPR.  During her time as an Adjunct Instructor for the nursing program at SUNY Delhi College, Marilyn acquired the ability to teach hands-on practical skills with an informal and relaxed style.  A dedicated outdoors person, Marilyn will teach you the skills necessary to fully and safely enjoy the Adirondack backcountry.
